Every question is multiple choice with the correct answer marked, so you can read them out on a car trip, print them for a class, or host the live version with a game PIN. Film and character names are spelled the way they are usually written in English, but nothing depends on the wording of a title. Song questions use song titles only, never lyrics.

The early classics
These are the films your grandparents saw first. The questions stay on the best-known moments from Pinocchio, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and Sleeping Beauty, with one number question for the sharpest viewers.
Six questions on the early classics
In Pinocchio, what grows longer when the puppet tells a lie?
In Cinderella, what does the Fairy Godmother turn into a coach?
In Alice in Wonderland, which character does Alice chase at the start of the story?
In Peter Pan, which animal chases Captain Hook after swallowing a clock?
In Sleeping Beauty, what does the princess prick her finger on?
In One Hundred and One Dalmatians, how many puppies do Pongo and Perdita have at the start?
The run from The Little Mermaid to Tarzan
The 1989 to 1999 run is the stretch most parents grew up with. The questions cover the main story turns, such as Ariel's deal, the Genie's wishes and who raised Tarzan, without any details a rewatch would change.
Six questions on the 1989 to 1999 films
In The Little Mermaid, what does Ariel give to Ursula in return for legs?
What does Belle's father do for a living in Beauty and the Beast?
In Aladdin, how many wishes does the Genie give each new master?
In Hercules, which Greek god is the hero's father?
What does Mulan do to take her father's place in the army?
In Tarzan, which animals raise the orphaned baby?
Sidekicks, villains and songs
Disney sidekicks and villains are what children remember best. The song questions use titles only, and the two trickiest ones ask where a song title comes from and which song won an Oscar.
Six sidekick, villain and song questions
In Pinocchio, which small creature is chosen to act as the puppet's conscience?
What kind of creature is Mushu in Mulan?
In The Little Mermaid, the villain Ursula is half human and half which sea creature?
In Sleeping Beauty, which villain turns into a huge dragon in the final battle?
The song title Hakuna Matata from The Lion King comes from which language?
Which song from Aladdin won the Oscar for Best Original Song?
Behind the films
Not every question needs a rewatch. This round covers which film was first, which character Walt Disney voiced himself, which authors wrote the stories behind two of the films, and where two of the films are set.
Six behind-the-scenes questions
Which film from 1937 was the first full-length animated feature from Disney?
Walt Disney himself provided the voice of which famous character in the early cartoons?
The Little Mermaid is inspired by a fairy tale by which Danish author?
The Hunchback of Notre Dame is based on a novel by which French writer?
In which country is Beauty and the Beast set?
Before they fly to Neverland, which city do the Darling children live in?
| Round | Best for | Feels like | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| The early classics | Ages 5 to 9, grandparents | Easy to medium | The puppy count is for sharp viewers |
| The run from The Little Mermaid to Tarzan | Ages 8 to 12, parents | Easy to medium | Some films, such as Hercules, are less known |
| Sidekicks, villains and songs | Mixed groups | Medium | The song questions need more than the tune |
| Behind the films | Teens, adults, trivia fans | Medium to hard | Two author questions suit book readers |
- Start with round one. Everyone knows Cinderella, so it works as a warm-up.
- Mix the rounds for a mixed age group. One question from each round keeps both a child and a grandparent in the game.
- Let kids guess the sidekicks. They often know the small animals better than the adults do.
- Keep the timer generous. Twenty seconds is plenty. A shorter timer rewards fast readers, not fans.
- Use the live explanations. The quick line after each question helps players who did not know the answer learn it right then.
Disney trivia lists often mix old films with new releases and repeat claims about box office records or unverified rumours. This quiz sticks to the classic animated features and to facts that do not change, such as the plot of a film, the author of the story behind it and the year of a first. It leaves out anything about the studio's recent releases, so it will not go out of date.
