Quiz Makers That Work in Arabic: 12 Tools Checked

Most quiz tools were built in English and translated later, and Arabic is where that shows. A tool can list Arabic as a language and still left-align the answers or have its AI write the questions in English. On 28 September 2026 we checked 12 quiz tools against their own help centers and pricing pages for what decides it: whether the teacher's screen is in Arabic and whether the AI writes the questions in Arabic. Right-to-left display for students matters just as much, but most vendors do not document it, so we say who does. We make one of the 12, Sheelon, so we list its limits as plainly as everyone else's.

"Not documented" means the vendor's own pages do not say either way. We did not guess, and you should not have to either: before you commit a whole unit to any tool, run a two-question test with your own class and look at it on a student's phone.

For a live game in class

Many teachers start with Kahoot, and according to its help center the host and player screens do run right-to-left in Arabic. The catch is on the teacher's side: the web quiz creator's interface does not switch to right-to-left, though your questions still display the way you typed them. Kahoot's mobile app supports creating in Arabic right-to-left. The free Go plan takes 40 players.

Sheelon runs in Arabic end to end, including the screen where you write the questions, and the free plan takes 50 players who join with a PIN and no account. Free covers multiple choice, true or false, and typed-answer questions; the other seven question types are part of Pro, at $3.99 a month or $39 a year.

Wayground runs live games well and its AI writes Arabic, but the teacher's interface is not available in Arabic. Blooket and Gimkit are popular with students, but neither has a built-in AI generator and neither documents Arabic support, so plan on typing the questions yourself and checking the display before class.

For AI that writes questions from your worksheet

The request we hear most from Arabic-speaking teachers is simple: upload the worksheet or the unit PDF and get questions back. These are the tools that do it, and what each one needs from you.

  • Sheelon: upload a PDF, Word, PowerPoint or Excel file up to 10 MB and the AI writes the questions in the language of your interface, so an Arabic account gets Arabic questions. The free plan covers 5 AI quizzes in total, not per month; Pro is unlimited. The walkthrough is in how to create a quiz from a PDF.
  • Wayground: accepts PDF, Word, PowerPoint and images, and lists Arabic as an output language. The free plan's AI is limited, and you will be working in a non-Arabic interface.
  • MagicSchool: 24 interface languages (it does not publish which), document upload in its quiz tool, and translation into 98 languages including Arabic. It produces a quiz for you to use elsewhere; it does not run live games.
  • Google Forms with Gemini: writes forms in Arabic since April 2026 and can work from your Docs, Slides and PDFs, but only on paid Google plans. The free Education Fundamentals edition is not on Google's list.
  • Kahoot: in our own test in September 2026, the AI Assistant generated a quiz from a topic on the free Go plan; the plans page lists PDF import from the paid Bronze plan. Kahoot does not name Arabic among its AI languages.
  • Examy: an Arabic-first Saudi tool that builds tests around Saudi curricula, with the first test free. It does not mention file upload or live games.

For a paper exam

Some tests still belong on paper. In Sheelon you can have the AI write the questions, edit them, and export two PDFs: a blank student copy and a teacher copy with the answers. The PDF follows the language of the questions, so an Arabic exam prints right-to-left with Arabic fonts. The export is part of Pro. The steps are in make a printable exam with AI.

What we could not verify

  • How good the Arabic is from the AI in Kahoot, Mentimeter or Wordwall. None of them names Arabic among its AI languages.
  • Right-to-left display for students in most tools. Kahoot documents it, Microsoft says Forms supports reading and answering in Arabic right-to-left, Sheelon's student screen is right-to-left in Arabic, and Mentimeter has had an open request for right-to-left languages since 2017. The others say nothing.
  • MagicSchool's free-plan limits, which it does not publish.
  • Whether Wayground requires students to have an account.
  • Wordwall and Quizlet teacher prices in US dollars: their pricing pages showed only local currency from where we checked.

How we checked

Every row comes from the vendor's own help center, pricing page or product page, read on 28 September 2026, except the Kahoot topic-generation result, which comes from our own hands-on test earlier that month. The main sources: Kahoot language support, Kahoot plans, Wayground languages, Wordwall plans, Mentimeter languages, Quizlet languages and Gemini in Google Forms in more languages. Prices and limits change often, so check the vendor's page before you pay for anything.

Is there a free Kahoot alternative in Arabic?

Yes. Sheelon has a full Arabic interface that runs right-to-left, the question editor included, and its free plan takes 50 players per game against Kahoot Go's 40. Kahoot itself also has an Arabic interface, but the interface of its web quiz creator does not switch to right-to-left.

Which quiz site writes questions in Arabic from a PDF?

Sheelon and Wayground both do, and so does Google Forms with Gemini on paid Google plans. Sheelon's free plan includes 5 AI quizzes in total, from a file or a topic; Wayground's free AI is limited and its interface is not in Arabic.

Does Kahoot support Arabic?

Partly. Kahoot's interface is available in Arabic, and its help center says the host and player screens run right-to-left on the web. The web quiz creator's interface does not switch to right-to-left, while Kahoot's mobile app supports creating in Arabic right-to-left.

Does Quizizz (Wayground) have an Arabic interface?

No. Wayground lists 35 interface languages and Arabic is not one of them, although its AI can generate questions in Arabic.

Do students need an account to join?

Not in Sheelon, Kahoot, Blooket, Gimkit, Wordwall or Mentimeter: students join with a code or a link. Wayground's join guide starts with signing in, and Google Forms asks for a Google sign-in if you limit each person to one response or add a file-upload question.

Try it with your next worksheet

Upload a worksheet or type a topic, get the questions in Arabic, and run them live with a PIN.
